In memory of Nintendo Life writer and contributor Philip J Reed

Philip J. Reed

We are heartbroken to announce that former Nintendo Life contributor Philip J Reed has passed away.

Those of you who have been around since the days of the 3DS and Wii U will no doubt remember Philip’s incredibly tireless contribution to this website. During that time, he wrote countless reviews and more than a few amazing features, making him one of the key players in the evolution of the site during a tough time in Nintendo’s history.

It was Philip who reviewed titles as important as shovel knight, crimson veil, Azure Striker Gunvolt and Project area X for us – all classic titles from a time when the 3DS became Nintendo’s most important platform.

However, his talents weren’t limited to just reviewing games; he also wrote a bunch of fantastic features for us, a selection of which you can see below:

Philip’s love of writing has led him to craft some epics outside of Nintendo Life, including an extensive retrospective on the original Resident Evil for Boss Fight Books.

The Triple Jump team, of which Philip was a contributor at the time of his death, opened a fundraiser for a charity close to his heart. We invite you to join us by donating if you can.

Rest in peace, Philip. We will miss you.
