Got those PlayStation, Nintendo or SEGA games? Sell them now and make a huge profit | Games | Entertainment

The retro gaming market can be a lucrative place – if you play your cards right – with rare collectibles such as PlayStation, Nintendo and SEGA rising in value. Last year saw the most expensive video game ever sold, which was an all-new copy of the classic gem of the NES platform, Super Mario Bros, which sold for a whopping $2 million. However, you don’t need to have something as rare as this lying around to make a net profit.

PriceCharting – a retro gaming website that tracks price trends for countless games – has released its latest list of highlights.

This list shows the in-demand games, consoles, accessories, or collectibles that have increased in value the most over the past week.

And unlike the previous hot items list where some of the top picks were a retro game from decades ago, this time around one of the biggest movers was a recent release.

The game that saw the second highest price increase was the Master’s Edition of Zelda Breath of the Wild.

This limited-edition version of the Switch classic – released in 2017 – comes with plenty of extras, including a Master Sword model, soundtrack, card and case for the Switch.

According to PriceCharting, a loose version of it went up over £200 to £345.

This is for the US release of Zelda Breath of the Wild Limited Edition.

Other US releases that also saw a price spike include Keio Flying Squadron for the Sega CD and The Greatest Hits Prime strategy guide for the Resident Evil Director’s Cut PS1 game.

A loose Keio release for the Sega CD (the US name for the Mega CD) went up £153 to £1,990.75.

While the aforementioned Resident Evil Strategy Guide is worth £436, which is an increase of over £50 from its previous price.

If you don’t have any imports in your collection, you might be wondering which UK or European releases have gone up in value.

Titles you’ll want to look out for include the Nightmare Edition of Bloodborne (now worth £267.46) for the PS4 and the Drakengard 3 Collector’s Edition for the PS3 (£278.13).

If you’re wondering which games have recently increased in value, you can find the top players for the US, followed by the UK and Europe (PAL).

Just keep in mind that the prices below are for loose versions of a game, with full box (i.e. game, box, manual, inserts) n and new sealed prices being completely different.
