Geoff Keighley says The Game Awards 2022 has over 50 games involved

Game Awards organizer Geoff Keighley spoke with Video Games FN about this year’s awards show where he said they had over 50 games involved. The news came when Geoff was asked about his thoughts on the games leaked by insiders before the trailers debuted on the show. He conceded that leaks are very difficult to control and said that when you have so many games to show, it’s reasonable to expect some will be discovered. However, he said they have been lucky in recent years and he hopes they can hold many genuine surprises for the fans. The Game Awards 2022 will be broadcast live on Thursday, December 8.

“It’s always difficult because when you have over 50 games involved one way or another, something is going to come out,” Keighley said. “But yes, [we have a] pretty good story, knock on wood, with spectacle and we usually keep a few surprises.

“I was talking to a company, and they were like, ‘Hey, we announced our game at The Game Awards, we have a spreadsheet of 143 things we need to do immediately after.’ You know, updating the website and social posts and things like that. So it’s a lot of things that need to be coordinated. We hope we can surprise people.
